Arignar Anna Government Arts College, Parent and Teachers Association was started during the academic year 2000-2001 and got registered with the office of the Registrar of Societies, Salem East, Salem-3. The Administrative committee of the Parent and Teachers Association is managing the day to day affairs of the Association and the Executive committee of the PTA is functioning as a watchdog of the PTA in assisting and guiding the administrative committee in order to fulfill the objectives of the Association.

OBJECTIVES

1. To create good relationship and harmony among Parent, Teachers and Students.

2. To ensure a conducive and smooth educational atmosphere in the college campus.

3. To undertake all efforts to increase the quality of Higher Education.

4. To assist the College administration in order to maintain discipline and control and motivate them to take part in Social activities.

5.  To raise funds for the construction of the library, laboratory, class rooms, auditorium and to appoint Teaching and Non-Teaching staff members due to under staff and to contribute for the development of College campus.

6.  To observe Tamil Culture, Tamil Language and praise National Integration among the students.

7.  To help the college administration for implementing Higher Education Policy of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

8.  To organize seminar, Workshop and conference for maintaining peace and harmony among members and Students.

9.  To circulate weekly, Monthly and Yearly Magazines etc.

10. To arrange for cultural programmes.

11. To raise funds for the development of the association etc.

Membership Fees and Subscription Fees

All the parents and Teachers are eligible to become members of the PTA and to pay Rs.10/-towards membership Fees and Rs.50/- towards subscription fees annually. As soon as the student completed the UG/PG/ M.Phil / Ph.d., course the fundamental membership of the parent ceased to exist as per bye laws of the Association.

        At present the College Principal Dr.K.CHITRA.,M.Sc.,M.Phil.,Ph.D., is the ex-officio President of  the Association. Mr.K.RAVICHANDRAN,M.Com.,M.Phil.,is  the Secretary and Dr.M.RAJA,M.A.,M.Phil.,Ph.D.,Asst. Professor, Dept. of History is the Treasurer of the Association. It is not an exaggeration that PTA is invariably helping for the development of the students and college and always stand as a supporting body for the college Administration.
