Affliated to Periyar University
The Tamil Department of this College holds the prestige that the College was established with only B.A Tamil Literature. Now the Department has a vast development with M.A Tamil Literature, M.Phil and Ph.D Research Programmes. There are two shifts available in the Under Graduate Programme. The Research Department of Tamil includes 17 staff members and around 400 students in the current academic year. All the Faculty members are Ph.D holders. Faculty members published books, articles, magazines etc,. 75 candidates completed M.Phil research degree and 6 candidates awarded Ph.D. 25 students passed NET/SET exams and 20 students completed JRF.
